Predominantly residential, Pleasant City has limited commercial opportunities except along the Dixie corridor. The programs of the CRA have been focused on residential infill and infrastructure improvement. In 2015, the CRA Board authorized the disposition of vacant CRA-owned lots for residential, owner-occupied development.
The CRA has invested $9.1 million in infrastructure and streetscape improvements, including the construction of a buffer wall with fencing and landscaping along the FEC tracks, from 17th Street to 25th Street, as well as the infrastructure for Merry Place. The successful Plant, Paint and Pave program continues.
