Office of the City Clerk

The Office of the City Clerk functions as the official record custodian, official custodian of the seal of the city, supervisor of City elections, and the city records management and records disposition program administrator.

The City Clerk is responsible for attending all City Commission meetings, keeping the official minutes of all meetings of the City Commission, assisting in the preparation of official documents, countersigning official documents, attesting to all city documents, and codifying and recording all local laws, ordinances, resolutions and legal documents adopted by the City Commission.

The City Clerk handles the sale of city cemetery plots, researching public records requests, administering Oaths and Affirmations, publishing legal notices, updating and distributing supplements to the City Code and updating City Financial Disclosure Statements.

PUBLIC NOTICE
NOTICE OF GENERAL ELECTION
 The City of West Palm Beach will hold a General Municipal Election on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, and Run-off Election, if ncecessary, on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. for the purpose of electing three City Commission seats: one in District 1, one in District 3, and one in District 5. Persons seeking election may qualify with the City Clerk beginning at noon on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, and ending at noon on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Qualifying is held during regular office hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
 
All persons seeking election as a City Commissioner shall be a qualified elector of the City and shall be a resident of the district from which he or she is to be elected. A candidate for the office of City Commissioner shall have continuously resided during the six-month period immediately prior to the date of election in the respective district from which the candidate seeks to qualify for election. The City Commissioners are elected at-large on a nonpartisan basis by a citywide vote.
 
Please note: City Hall will be closed on Monday, January 1st due to New Year’s Day. City Hall will reopen on Tuesday, January 2nd.

La Ciudad de West Palm Beach realizara Elección Municipal General el día Martes 13 de Marzo, 2018 y terminara si fuese necesario el día 27 de Marzo, 2018, entre las horas de 7.00 a.m. y 7.00 p.m. con el proposito de elegir tres posiciones para Comisionado de la Ciudad: Uno para el Distrito 1, Uno para el Distrito 3, Uno para el Distrito 5. Personas que buscan ser elegidas pueden calificar en la secretaria de la ciudad empezando al medio día del Miércoles, Diciembre 27, 2017 y terminando al medio dia del Martes, Enero 09, 2018. Las Calificaciones seran hechas en las horas regulares de oficina, de Lunes a Viernes de 8.00 a.m. hasta las 5.00 p.m.
 
Todas las personas que buscan ser elegidas como Comisionados debe ser un Elector calificado de la Ciudad y debe ser Residente del Distrito para el cual El o Ella va ha ser elegidos. Un candidato para ocupar la oficina de Comisionado debe haber residido continuamente por un periodo mínimo de seis meses previos de la fecha de la Elección en el respectivo Distrito para el cual el candidato busca calificar para la elección. Los Comisionados de la Ciudad son elegidos basados en la votación general de toda la Ciudad y No Partidista.
 
Por favor note: El salón de la Ciudad estara cerrado el día Lunes, 1ro de Enero por ano nuevo. El salón de la Ciudad reabrira sus puertas el día Martes 2do de Enero.
