Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA)

The Zoning Board of Appeals has the Authority to grant variances, to consider, and approve or disapprove, applications for Class B Special Use Permits, and to hear and decide appeals where it is alleged there is an error in any order, requirement, decision, or determination made by the zoning officer in the enforcement of regulations.

The Zoning Board of Appeals normally meets in Commission Chambers on the first Thursday of every month at 1:30 P.M. Please check the agenda prior to a meeting to confirm time and location.

Application Deadlines/Meeting Schedule

All application deadlines are strictly enforced. All applications must have an appointment with a Planner to submit the application. All applications must be submitted to the Planning Department office no later than 12:00 p.m. (noon) on the day of the deadline. In order to be accepted, the application must contain all required items and information described in the application. Partial application will not be accepted for placement on the Zoning Board of Appeals agenda until all such material are submitted.

*NOTE: Please note that applicants for a Class B Special Use Permit are required to complete an Additional Use Standards form specific to their request. Please contact a planner to obtain the appropriate form.

Zoning Board Members

The Zoning Board of Appeals consists of five regular members and two alternate members. Regular members may vote on any matter considered by the Zoning Board of Appeals at any regular or special meeting. Alternate members attend all meetings. The first alternate member may vote only upon the absence of one regular member. The second alternate member may vote only upon the absence of two of the regular members, or the absence of one regular member and the first alternate.
