The City of West Palm Beach will be accepting applications for sworn officers or those accepted into a police academy from May 6, 2018 - May 18, 2018.

It is REQUIRED that you review the requirements for Police Officer and complete the Police Officer supplemental application. If you do not complete the supplemental application and attach all required documents as part of your online application, your application will be automatically disqualified.

The West Palm Beach Police Department has consistently maintained the highest standards in selecting personnel who will represent the City of West Palm Beach as a police officer. All applicants considering a position with the West Palm Beach Police Department should be aware of these standards and the phases of the selection process before attempting to qualify for a position. The application process begins with an online application. There will be a swim test, pre-background, polygraph, full background, oral interview, psychological, and medical evaluation. Candidates must pass each portion to move on to the next testing phase. The pre-employment polygraph examination will concern the applicant’s honesty and integrity.
 

A complete background investigation will be conducted as part of the testing process to determine if the candidate is appropriate for employment as a Police Officer as outlined in F.S.S. 943.13. Additional factors that will be considered are; past illegal drug use, history of arrest, incidents of theft, prior work history, driving history, or omissions on the application. Please be sure to review the requirements in the supplemental application thoroughly.
