WPB Commissioner Keith James represents in Pittsburgh
This week, West Palm Beach Commissioner Keith James is in Pittsburgh representing the city at the annual National League of Cities Summit.
The City Summit is the National League of Cities’ largest annual event and the nation’s premier gathering of city leaders.
Commissioner James, who returns to West Palm Beach Sunday, spoke via phone to the INSIDER Friday.
"Regardless of what's happening on the national stage, those of us at the municipal level still have a job to do. I am encouraged by the energy and can-do attitude I have seen among my colleagues from around the country. There are a lot of exciting ideas to be brought back to West Palm Beach," said Commissioner James.
West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio is also at the conference this week.
The conference includes more than 3,000 mayors, councilmembers and other local officials to explore and find solutions to the most pressing challenges currently facing cities. Topics include economic development, technology and data use, sustainability and climate change, transportation, community relations and leadership development.
