In the Do It Yourself Water Audit, three areas of water conservation will be addressed: cisterns, outdoor and indoor conservation. Additionally, the water related items of the conservation kits will be explained.
Cisterns—Speaker Bio: Jack Burden

Jack Burden is a principal partner in Raindrops Cisterns Inc., a Florida-owned leader in water catchment and reuse technologies. Jack grew up as a “waterman” in South Florida and his connection with the precious resource goes back to his early days sailing and diving in South Florida and the Bahamas. Travelling the world in the early eighties, Jack was witness to the “water riots” at the India/ Bangladesh border, and had an epiphany that this was the future for all of us….an inevitable struggle over the most dear of all scarce resources.
Raindrops Cisterns designs, installs, and maintains above and below- ground cistern systems for homes, schools, municipal buildings, and commercial concerns throughout Florida. RDC, as part of a professional consortium, Florida Waterscapes LLC, has recently been awarded a 68 acres low impact development storm water design contract, pioneering new water quality solutions for polluted run-off.
Jack is a co-chair of the SEE alternative water use committee in Sarasota; sits on the peer review board of the Low Impact Development Manual; and is an American Rain Systems Catchment Association accredited professional.
