Grassy Waters Preserve is happy to provide FREE field trips to local K-12 students in the form of the ACWA program. The mission of the ACWA program is to provide hands-on learning experiences which nurture students natural curiosity, create a personal connection between students and their watershed, and foster a sense of environmental stewardship. Our educators are dedicated to leading students down the path from knowledge and awareness to true understanding.
Grassy Waters Preserve has a staff of professional educators and volunteers who gear each program to the grade level of your students. Our programs stress hands-on experiential learning. We strive to meet the needs of educators and follow the requirements of the Sunshine State Standards.
On-Site Programs are 3 hours long with a 30 minute lunch break. A maximum of 45 students may participate. All programs are presented rain or shine. Programs are outdoors so students should dress appropriately. Details on how to insure your students are properly prepared are included in the confirmation letter sent after booking.
To schedule a field trip call 561-804-4985 or email our Program Coordinator, Sam Dorfman at firstname.lastname@example.org. We recommend scheduling at least one month in advance. Programs are offered Tuesday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
