All City employees must choose between Direct Deposit or PayAccess. With either method employees' pay will be available as of 8:00 am on payday even in the event of natural disasters (hurricanes), illness, vacation, or other events.

Direct Deposit is the automated deposit of employees' paycheck to the checking or savings account designated by the employee. The benefits are as follows.

• Employees' paychecks are electronically deposited
• Prevents lost, stolent or misplaced check
• Employees will continue to receive their Earnings Statement on payday, which will indicate the amount deposited and other deductions/contribution information.

In the event employees are unable to obtain a tradional bank account (checking/savings); Wachovia, the City's corporate bank will provide employees with a PayAccess Account. The benefits are as follows:

• Employees' paychecks are electronically deposited into their PayAccess account. No other deposits, like cash or checks, can be made into this account
• Employees will receive a PayAccess card, which is used to conveniently access their pay
• Withdrawals may be made at any ATM or at most merchants (grocery stores, gas stations, etc.)
• Easy access to cash - employees may withdraw cash from their account 24 hours a day at over 5,100 Wachovia locations.
