All employees who are Florida State Paramedic Certified and who are fully authorized by the West Palm Beach Fire Rescue Department Medical Director and Fire Rescue Administration to performed Advanced Life Support (ALS) procedures and who meet all of the requirements as stated in the IAFF bargaining union agreement shall receive paramedic incentive equal to 15% of base pay, not to exceed $346.15 per pay period for a total of $9,000 annually.
All employees who are Florida State Paramedic Certified and who have limited authorization by the West Palm Beach Fire Rescue Department Medical Director and Fire Rescue Administration to performed Advanced Life Support (ALS) procedures and who meet all of the requirements as stated in the IAFF bargaining union agreement shall receive $100.00 per pay period ($2,600 annually).
Exclusive of paramedic certification and degree incentive, an employee shall be limited to three (3) of the following certifications for incentive pay purposes:
a.Inspector Certification Incentive: Employees assigned outside of the Fire Prevention Bureau, who achieve and maintain Florida State certification as Municipal Fire Safety Inspectors, shall be compensated $50 (fifty dollars) per month in addition to the base rate of pay.
b. Trainer Certification Incentive: Employees assigned outside of the Training and Support Division, who achieve and maintain Florida State Certification as Basic Instructor, shall be compensated $50 (fifty dollars) per pay period in addition to the base rate of pay.
c. Technical Rescue Technician Incentive: Employees who are assigned by the Fire Department to the Special Operations program will be eligible for incentive pay of $75 (seventy-five dollars) per month. An employee must have current all of the following certificates: Confined Space Rescue, Rope Rescue, Vehicle Extrication and Trench Rescue. Personnel who receive this benefit will be required to maintain the above stated certifications to maintain assignment and the incentive pay.
d. SWAT Paramedic Incentive Pay: Employees who are assigned by the Fire Department to the SWAT Paramedic Program will be eligible for incentive pay of $50 (fifty dollars) per month.
e. Hazardous Materials Technician Incentive Pay: Qualified employees who are authorized as a Hazardous Materials Technician (HMT) by the Fire Rescue Administration with input from the Special Operations Committee, shall receive incentive pay in the amount of $75 (seventy-five dollars) per month as long as the authorization is maintained.
f. Qualified employees who are authorized as Dive Rescue certified shall receive incentive pay in the amount of $50 (fifty dollars) per month effective at the start of the first payroll period that begins on or after January 1, 2002.
g. An employee who obtains an Associate Degree in Fire Science shall receive $10 (ten dollars) per month paid by the City. An employee who obtains an Associate or Bachelor Decree in a fire related discipline approved by the Florida State Fire College, shall receive supplemental compensation as provided by state statute.
