Route Information for Holiday Lighting and Mayor’s Parade

(12-10-08) The following are the road closures for the Clematis by Night Holiday Lighting and 3 rd Annual WPB Mayor’s Parade .  This family-friendly, free event is being held Thursday, December 11, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. along Clematis Street in downtown West Palm Beach.

Clematis Street will be closed to traffic between South Rosemary Avenue and Tamarind Avenue beginning at 2:00 p.m. for parade setup.

Clematis Street will be closed to traffic from Flagler Drive to Olive Avenue beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Narcissus Avenue will be closed to traffic from Banyan Boulevard and Datura Street beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Clematis Street will be closed to traffic between Flagler Drive and South Rosemary Avenue beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Olive Avenue, Dixie Highway, Quadrille Boulevard, Rosemary Avenue and Sapodilla Avenue will all be closed to traffic between Banyan Boulevard and Datura Street beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Flagler Drive will be closed between Banyan Boulevard and Fern Street beginning at 6:00 p.m.

All roads will re-open once the parade is over with the exception of Clematis Street from east of Olive Avenue to Flagler Drive and Narcissus Avenue from Banyan Boulevard to Datura Street.  Those roads will reopen upon the conclusion of Clematis by Night after 9:30 p.m.

The WPB GreenMarket Celebrates the Season with Lots of Holiday Happenings

(December 10, 2008) – This holiday season the West Palm Beach GreenMarket is celebrating with lots of cheer and activities. Guests can partake in all of the holiday happenings this month at the intersection of 2 nd St. and Narcissus Ave. which will include:

Saturday, December 13
FREE Holiday Pet Photos
9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Even Fluffy can get in the holiday spirit at the market! Guests can bring their pet to get a free holiday photo taken with one of Santa’s elves. Photos are courtesy of Louis & Co., a dog store.

Toys for Tots
8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
‘Tis the season of giving. Guests are invited to help the children of our community by dropping off a new, unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots program. These toys will go to underprivileged children and bring them the joy of the holidays.

Live Holiday Music
9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Guests can enjoy some holiday cheer while they listen to the Zotallica Violin Trio play their favorite holiday tunes.

Saturday, December 20
Chef Demonstration
10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Chef Tammy Jo Newman from the Palm Beach Gardens High School Culinary Arts program, will be out with students to create delicious dishes with fresh ingredients gathered at the market. Guests are invited to come out and learn how to make these tasty dishes and sample the student’s work.

FREE Kids Face Painting at Candy Cane Row
9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Kids can get in the spirit as they walk down Candy cane row and get a free face painting. The kids are sure to smile with a cute snowman or reindeer painted on their face, and they will also receive a FREE candy cane treat!

Guests can also sit and enjoy their made-to-order breakfast or lunch at the GreenMarket Café. The West Palm Beach GreenMarket is dog-friendly and offers free parking in the Banyan Street Garage during market hours.
