New Buffer Wall to Keep Children Safe, Off Local Railroad Tracks

Jun 17, 2009 - Mayor's Office

When:  Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Noon
Where:  Intersection of 20th Street and A.E. Isaacs Ave., West Palm Beach

(06/17/09)  The City of West Palm Beach will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for a new buffer wall designed to keep local kids safe on Thursday, June 18, 2009, at noon on the corner of 20th Street and A.E. Isaacs Avenue.

The wall will provide a buffer between the Pleasant City neighborhood and the F.E.C. railroad tracks.  The wall will help prevent children from both Pleasant City and Coleman Park from making dangerous crossings of the tracks and also improve the aesthetics of the neighborhood.

The people of Pleasant City asked for the City to install the buffer wall as part of the Pleasant City Citizen’s Master Plan and as part of the area’s overall revitalization.
