West Palm TV to Air Waterfront Grand Opening Special

(Thursday, February 25, 2010) West Palm TV, the City of West Palm Beach’s government access television station, will air a Waterfront Grand Opening special this Saturday, February 27, 2010 beginning at 7:00 p.m. The special will feature the entire performance of “Cirque Majik,” as well as portions of the fireworks and live entertainment from that evening’s event.
West Palm TV can be seen in the City of West Palm Beach on Comcast cable Channel 18 and anywhere in the world you have internet access by logging on to westpalmtv.com.
“For the first time in the station’s history we were able to bring a live, remote event to our viewers the day of our event, and we are proud to present the replay of the day’s festivities to those who couldn’t make it down to the waterfront in person” said West Palm TV Station Manager Jim Clark.
The special is about 2 ½ hours long and is hosted by local television and radio veteran Bob Nichols and former Miss Florida Angelia Savage. It originally aired live on Saturday, February 20, 2010.
Look for additional replays of the program and shorter excerpts on West Palm TV and at YouTube.com/user/WestPalmTV. The waterfront grand opening special will also soon be added to the station’s on-demand catalog at westpalmtv.com.

Please join us at a Neighborhood Leadership Presentation on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 in the Flagler Gallery, City Hall, 401 Clematis Street. Mayor Lois Frankel would like your input in regards to the sale of the old city hall site.
There will be formal presentations at 2:00 PM and again at 5:30 PM. Consultants will be available during the day to meet informally with interested stakeholders.

For 5 days this month the non-profit Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America will hold an all day and all night event (24 hours per day) at the Palm Beach County Convention Center open to everyone in Palm Beach and Broward Counties who has an unaffordable mortgage or who wants to purchase a new home but is having difficulty obtaining financing. Literally HUNDREDS of servicers and lenders will be on site including the first ever INSTANT SAME DAY restructuring by Bank of America, Wells Fargo, CitiMortgage and more. Several workshops will be held throughout the city and county PRIOR to the Convention Center event and will help to speed procesing of applications.
NACA is hosted by the City of West Palm Beach. This is a unique opportunity for home owners as participation is NOT based on mortgage status, income level or current value of home but property must be owners primary residence.
Many families’ mortgages have been reduced to interest rates as low as 2% thru the restructuring efforts of this nonprofit group. NACA is the largest and most effective nonprofit HUD certified home ownership advocacy organization in America. Their website is naca.com. The Service is Free.

Spencer Drive Road Construction

Please be aware that the Spencer Drive project will begin on March 8, 2010. During the first two weeks, there will be minor construction work performed using flagmen. Near the end of March, Spencer Drive will be one lane for each direction of travel, with the eastern half of the roadway closed for construction. The eastern half of the roadway will be closed for approximately 4-5 months and then the construction will switch to the western half.
During the construction, one lane of travel will be available for each direction (one northbound lane & one southbound lane). Access to all businesses, residences, church and school will be maintained and drivers will have advanced warning with the use of message boards on Okeechobee, Palm Beach Lakes and Village.
