Hit Concert Series Continues with Sunday’s “Elton John and Billy Joel” Tribute Show
(Wednesday, September 22, 2010) The Rocket Man meets the Piano Man as “Back to Back” takes over the Palm Beach Post Sunday at the Meyer this weekend! “Back to Back” will serve up a mind-blowing authentic tribute concert… and it’s totally free! Catch the show at South Florida’s best FREE concert series this Sunday, September 26, 2010, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
“Back 2 Back” is a show filled with tour de force performances by not just one, but two of the best tribute bands in the country. Piano Man and Rocket Man are tributes to Billy Joel and Elton John! It’s so authentic you will feel like you are at the “Face 2 Face” tour…except you’re closer to the artists and the show is free. The concert is filled with nothing but hit after hit! Each band does a full show, then “Billy” and “Elton” get together for a few songs face to face for an incredible encore!
Guests are welcome to bring their own blankets, lawn chairs and coolers, or they can also purchase food and beverages at the concert. Guests also get free Chick-fil-A brownies handed out by Mayor Lois Frankel. You’re welcome to travel to downtown by boat, docking free of charge at one of three new City docks along Flagler Drive. The event is one of the best bargains you can find in family entertainment: the show is free, parking in all City lots and at City meters is free and there are free kid’s activities! City of West Palm Beach Wins 2010 Athena Award

The City of West Palm Beach is being honored for several major achievements.
The 2010 Athena Award for Business of the Year is being presented to the City Of West Palm Beach. The City receives this honor in recognition of a strong record of leadership by and equal opportunities for women. Of 87 management positions in the city, 44% are occupied by women. Many of these professionals dedicate much of their free time to civic organizations and charitable causes. The city was also recognized for its women-friendly business practices in order to attract, promote and retain female employees. Mayor Lois Frankel believes such practices benefit residents and businesses by fostering fresh ideas and innovative approaches “The City appreciates this honor and will continue to promote a diverse workforce which mirrors the many cultures of our community.” The Athena is a yearly award presented by the Chamber of the Palm Beaches.
