Palm Beach International Boat Show Information

Affected Area: Flagler Drive in Downtown WPB

West Palm Beach residents and visitors should be aware of the following information regarding the Palm Beach International Boat Show:

Beginning Friday, March 12, 2010, Flagler Drive northbound will be closed from Lakeview Avenue to Banyan Boulevard.  Starting Sunday, March 21, 2010, Flagler Drive will undergo a complete closure from Lakeview Avenue to Banyan Boulevard.  The southbound lanes of Flagler Drive will reopen on Wednesday, March 31, 2010.  Flagler Drive will completely reopen on Friday, April 2, 2010.  Northbound traffic may detour via Olive Avenue and southbound traffic may detour via Dixie Highway.

The three public docks along Flagler Drive will be closed to boaters and pedestrians beginning Friday, March 12, 2010.  The docks will reopen on Friday, April 2, 2010.

The waterfront Great Lawn will be closed off and the nightly lightshows will be suspended beginning Friday, March 12, 2010.  The Lawn will reopen and the lightshows will resume no later than Sunday, April 4, 2010.

The “Cyclic” exhibition at the Waterfront Lake Pavilion will be closed to the general public March 21-31, 2010.  The exhibition will be open to Boat Show patrons only during the Boat Show from March 25-28.

S. Dixie Highway Temporary Closure

What: Evening on Antique Row: Dixie Highway Road Closing
When: Saturday, March 6, 2010, from noon to midnight
Affected Area: S. Dixie Highway from Southern Blvd. to Greenwood Dr.

(03/04/10) Motorists should be aware that due to the Evening on Antique Row, South Dixie Highway will be closed to vehicular traffic from Southern Boulevard to Greenwood Drive on Saturday, March 6, 2010 from noon until midnight.

Motorists should detour via Olive Avenue or Parker Avenue.

Spencer Drive Improvement Project

Affected Area: Spencer Dr. from Okeechobee Blvd. to Palm Beach Lakes Blvd.

(Tuesday, March 2, 2010) The City of West Palm Beach will be starting an improvement project along Spencer Drive on Monday, March 8, 2010. The project will affect Spencer Drive between Okeechobee Boulevard and Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard and will take approximately 10 months to complete.

All residents, businesses and their customers will continue to have access to their destinations along Spencer Drive during this project.

The comprehensive improvement project will replace sewer pipes, replace a water main pipe, widen Spencer Drive from two lanes to four lanes and provide improved lighting and landscaping. Throughout the project, at least one lane of traffic will be open in each direction.

Electronic message boards will be in place throughout the project to alert motorists to any specific conditions that they need to be aware of.

Spencer Drive Road Construction

Please be aware that the Spencer Drive project will begin on March 8, 2010.  During the first two weeks, there will be minor construction work performed using flagmen.  Near the end of March, Spencer Drive will be one lane for each direction of travel, with the eastern half of the roadway closed for construction.  The eastern half of the roadway will be closed for approximately 4-5 months and then the construction will switch to the western half.

During the construction, one lane of travel will be available for each direction (one northbound lane & one southbound lane).  Access to all businesses, residences, church and school will be maintained and drivers will have advanced warning with the use of message boards on Okeechobee, Palm Beach Lakes and Village.
