Palm Beach County – Palm Beach County traffic will be affected this week by ongoing construction projects and maintenance work, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) officials report. Weather permitting; closures will be in effect on I-95, Southern Blvd. (SR80) and in other areas throughout Palm Beach County for construction activities. Click here to view the report

(08/22/08)  Due to work being done on City Center, South Dixie Highway will be closed to traffic between Banyan Boulevard and Clematis Street from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24, 2008.

Motorists should detour via Banyan Boulevard to Quadrille Boulevard.

What:  South Flagler Drive/Granada Road Intersection Closed
When:  Beginning Monday, July 7, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.

(07/01/08)  Motorists should be aware that the intersection of South Flagler Drive and Granada Road will be closed from Monday, July 7, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. through Friday, July 11, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.  The intersection will be closed while crews perform underground stormwater pipe removal and repairs.

The detour for northbound traffic is Avila Road to Olive Avenue to Diana Place.  The detour for southbound traffic is Actaeon Place to Olive Avenue to Avila Road.

What:  4th on Flagler Road Closings

(07/01/08)  The following roads will be closed for “4th on Flagler” in downtown West Palm Beach, which will be held Friday, July 4, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.:

Beginning Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.:
Flagler Drive will be closed from Banyan Boulevard to Lakeview Avenue.
North Clematis Street will be closed from Lantana Avenue to Flagler Drive.
South Clematis Street will be closed from Narcissus Avenue to Flagler Drive.
Datura Street will be closed from Narcissus Avenue to Flagler Drive.
Evernia Street will be closed from Narcissus Avenue to Flagler Drive.
Narcissus Avenue will be closed from Datura Street to Evernia Street.
All  the above roads will reopen no later than Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 1:00 p.m.

Beginning Friday, July 4, 2008 at 1:00 p.m.:
Clematis Street, Datura Street, Evernia Street and Fern Street will all be closed from Olive Avenue to Flagler Drive.
Access for resident parking will be maintained on Evernia Street and Fern Street.
All roads will reopen no later than Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 12:00 p.m.

Affected Area:  Near Convention Center, Okeechobee Blvd.

(05/20/08)  Residents and commuters should be aware that heavy traffic volumes are expected in the area near the Palm Beach County Convention Center and west of the Convention Center along Okeechobee Boulevard throughout the rest of the week due to ongoing high school graduation ceremonies at the Convention Center.  The graduations conclude on Friday, May 23, 2008.

West Palm Beach Police are assisting with traffic flow, but commuters should consider seeking alternate routes during morning rush hour and be prepared for possible delays along Okeechobee Boulevard near the Convention Center.

When:  Beginning Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 7:00 a.m.
Where:  Flagler Drive between N. Clematis St. and S. Clematis St.

(05/07/08)  Motorists should be aware that Flagler Drive will be reduced to two lanes (one lane of traffic in each direction) between North Clematis Street and South Clematis Street beginning Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 7:00 a.m.

The lane reductions are due to maintenance work being performed in the area.  Traffic patterns on Flagler Drive will return to normal no later than Friday, May 9, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.

What:  Road closing information for Sunfest.
When:  Beginning Friday, April 25, 2008.
Affected Area:  Downtown WPB along Flagler Drive.

(04/23/08)  Motorists should be aware of the following road closings in downtown West Palm Beach due to Sunfest:

-Beginning Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 9:00 a.m., Flagler Drive will be reduced to two lanes (one lane of travel in each direction) between Fern Street and Datura Street.

-Beginning Monday, April 28, 2008 at 9:00 a.m., Flagler Drive will be closed to traffic between Banyan Boulevard and Lakeview Avenue.

-Also beginning Monday, April 28, 2008 at 9:00 a.m., Evernia Street will be closed between Narcissus Avenue and Flagler Drive, Narcissus Avenue will be closed between Datura Street and Evernia Street and North Clematis Street will be closed between Lantana Avenue and Flagler Drive.

All roads are expected to reopen by Monday, May 5, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.

What:  Lane reduction on Olive Avenue.
When:  Beginning Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.
Affected Area:  Olive Avenue near Banyan Boulevard.

(04/16/08)  Due to work being preformed on a traffic signal, there will be lane reductions on Olive Avenue near the intersection of Banyan Boulevard beginning Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.  The work is expected to be completed by 5:00 p.m.

Access to area businesses and parking garages will not be affected.  Access to Banyan Boulevard from Olive Avenue also will not be affected.

What:  Lane reduction on Okeechobee Boulevard.
When:  Beginning Friday, March 21, 2008 at 10:00 p.m.
Affected Area:  Okeechobee Boulevard west of Quadrille Boulevard.

(03/20/08) Due to construction work being done on the CityPlace Office tower, three westbound lanes of Okeechobee Boulevard will be closed just west of Quadrille Boulevard from Friday, March 21, 2008 at 10:00 p.m. until Saturday, March 22, 2008 at 4:00 p.m.  One westbound lane will remain open to traffic.

West Palm Beach Police will be on-scene to assist with traffic flow as needed.

What:  Traffic Information for Palm Beach Boat Show.
When:  Beginning Sunday, March 23, 2008 at 6:00 a.m.
Affected Area:  Portions of Flagler Drive in downtown WPB.

(03/19/08)  Motorists should be aware of the following road closings in downtown West Palm Beach due to the Palm Beach Boat Show:

Beginning Sunday, March 23, 2008 at 6:00 a.m., Flagler Drive will be closed to traffic between Banyan Boulevard and Lakeview Avenue.  Flagler Drive will reopen on Tuesday, April 1, at 5:00 p.m.; however, there will be lane reductions on Flagler Drive between Banyan Boulevard and Fern Street until Friday, April 4, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.

Narcissus Avenue is currently closed between Evernia Street and Datura Street.  Narcissus Avenue will reopen on Wednesday, April 2 at 5:00 p.m.
