S. Dixie Highway Drainage, Utility Improvements Continue

The City of West Palm Beach is making infrastructure improvements along Monroe Drive, including at the intersection with Dixie Highway.  As a result of the project, South Dixie Highway will be closed to traffic at Monroe Drive until approximately November 14, 2009.  As part of the project, the City will be upgrading stormwater pipes, which will improve drainage and help reduce flooding in the area for both homes and businesses.  The City is also upgrading aged water lines, resulting in better service for customers and improved fire protection for the area.

Residents, businesses, and their customers will continue to have access to their destinations along Dixie Highway during this period.  Through traffic should detour via either Olive Avenue or Parker Avenue.

Drainage Improvements Continue

Affected Area: Forest Hill Blvd. at Martin Avenue

(08/07/09) As a result of a City of West Palm Beach drainage improvement project, Forest Hill Boulevard will be closed to traffic at Martin Avenue period of approximately 6 (six) days beginning Monday, August 10, 2009. The road is expected to reopen no later than Saturday, August 15, 2009. The City will be upgrading stormwater pipes, which will improve drainage and help reduce flooding in the area for both homes and businesses.

Residents, businesses, and their customers will continue to have access to their destinations along Forest Hill Boulevard during this period. Through traffic should use Southern Boulevard as an alternate route. Eastbound traffic on Forest Hill Blvd. should detour via Dixie Highway and westbound traffic should use Olive Avenue. Notices have already been sent to residents and businesses in the construction zone.

Parker Ave. south of Forest Hill Blvd.: Road Work

Affected Area:  Parker Avenue South of Forest Hill Boulevard

(07/20/09)  Motorists should be aware that due to road work, Parker Avenue will be closed to traffic between Forest Hill Boulevard and Maddock Street beginning Tuesday, July 21, 2009, for a period of approximately twenty five (25) days.

The work WILL NOT affect the intersection of Parker Avenue and Forest Hill Boulevard.  Access to Forest Hill High School will be maintained during the project.

The project will improve the traffic circulation near Forest Hill High School. Motorists should detour via Georgia Avenue.

City Docks to Alternate Temporary Closings During Construction

WHERE:        WPB City Docks along Flagler Drive

wpbdock-130(July 17, 2009 – West Palm Beach, FL) – Residents and visitors should be advised that West Palm Beach City Dock #2 (the middle dock) will be closed temporarily beginning on Monday, July 20 for a period of at least a week while construction crews work on the sidewalks leading to the dock.  The dock will be closed to pedestrians and there will be no land access for boaters.  The south dock is the most accessible dock while construction is underway on Flagler Drive.

S. Dixie Highway Construction Project

Affected Area: S. Dixie Hwy. at E. Lakewood Road

(07/16/09) As a result of an ongoing City of West Palm Beach project along E. Lakewood Road, South Dixie Highway will be closed to traffic at E. Lakewood Road for a period of approximately 30 (thirty) days beginning Monday, July 20, 2009. As part of the project, the City will be upgrading stormwater pipes, which will improve drainage and help reduce flooding in the area for both homes and businesses. The City is also upgrading aged water lines, resulting in better service for customers and improved fire protection for the area.

Residents, businesses, and their customers will continue to have access to their destinations along Dixie Highway during this period. Northbound through traffic should use either Forest Hill Boulevard to I-95 and southbound through traffic should take Southern Boulevard to I-95. Notices have already been sent to residents and businesses in the construction zone.
