What:  Road closing information for Sunfest.
When:  Beginning Friday, April 25, 2008.
Affected Area:  Downtown WPB along Flagler Drive.

(04/23/08)  Motorists should be aware of the following road closings in downtown West Palm Beach due to Sunfest:

-Beginning Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 9:00 a.m., Flagler Drive will be reduced to two lanes (one lane of travel in each direction) between Fern Street and Datura Street.

-Beginning Monday, April 28, 2008 at 9:00 a.m., Flagler Drive will be closed to traffic between Banyan Boulevard and Lakeview Avenue.

-Also beginning Monday, April 28, 2008 at 9:00 a.m., Evernia Street will be closed between Narcissus Avenue and Flagler Drive, Narcissus Avenue will be closed between Datura Street and Evernia Street and North Clematis Street will be closed between Lantana Avenue and Flagler Drive.

All roads are expected to reopen by Monday, May 5, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.

What:  Lane reduction on Olive Avenue.
When:  Beginning Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.
Affected Area:  Olive Avenue near Banyan Boulevard.

(04/16/08)  Due to work being preformed on a traffic signal, there will be lane reductions on Olive Avenue near the intersection of Banyan Boulevard beginning Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.  The work is expected to be completed by 5:00 p.m.

Access to area businesses and parking garages will not be affected.  Access to Banyan Boulevard from Olive Avenue also will not be affected.

What:  Lane reduction on Okeechobee Boulevard.
When:  Beginning Friday, March 21, 2008 at 10:00 p.m.
Affected Area:  Okeechobee Boulevard west of Quadrille Boulevard.

(03/20/08) Due to construction work being done on the CityPlace Office tower, three westbound lanes of Okeechobee Boulevard will be closed just west of Quadrille Boulevard from Friday, March 21, 2008 at 10:00 p.m. until Saturday, March 22, 2008 at 4:00 p.m.  One westbound lane will remain open to traffic.

West Palm Beach Police will be on-scene to assist with traffic flow as needed.

What:  Traffic Information for Palm Beach Boat Show.
When:  Beginning Sunday, March 23, 2008 at 6:00 a.m.
Affected Area:  Portions of Flagler Drive in downtown WPB.

(03/19/08)  Motorists should be aware of the following road closings in downtown West Palm Beach due to the Palm Beach Boat Show:

Beginning Sunday, March 23, 2008 at 6:00 a.m., Flagler Drive will be closed to traffic between Banyan Boulevard and Lakeview Avenue.  Flagler Drive will reopen on Tuesday, April 1, at 5:00 p.m.; however, there will be lane reductions on Flagler Drive between Banyan Boulevard and Fern Street until Friday, April 4, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.

Narcissus Avenue is currently closed between Evernia Street and Datura Street.  Narcissus Avenue will reopen on Wednesday, April 2 at 5:00 p.m.

(02/21/08) Beginning Saturday, February 23, 2008, there will be a new traffic pattern on South Olive Avenue between Lakeview Avenue and Okeechobee Boulevard.

The southbound lane of traffic on Olive Avenue is being converted to a drop-off lane for residents and visitors of One City Plaza. Because of this change, motorists will no longer be able to make a left-hand turn from Lakeview Avenue on to South Olive Avenue. The two northbound lanes of Olive Avenue will be unaffected.

What:  Portion of Banyan Boulevard Closed.
When:  Sunday, January 20, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Affected Area:  Banyan between Tamarind Ave. and Australian Ave.

Due to resurfacing work, Banyan Boulevard will be closed to through traffic between Tamarind Avenue and Australian Avenue on Sunday, January 20, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The road work is being done on a Sunday in order to minimize the effect on traffic.  Motorists may detour via Okeechobee Boulevard.  Trains on the CSX tracks crossing Banyan Boulevard just west of Tamarind avenue will not be affected.

(01/11/08)  Motorists should be advised that the I-95 southbound entrance ramp from Okeechobee Boulevard will be closed on Sunday night, January 13, 2008 from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. on the morning of Monday, January 14.

Motorists may detour via Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard.

The following is the road closure schedule for the “Clematis by Night Holiday Lighting and Mayor’s Parade” on Thursday, November 29, 2007:

Clematis Street will be closed from Rosemary Avenue west through the Sapodilla Avenue intersection beginning at 1:00 p.m. for parade setup.

Clematis Street will be closed from Flagler Drive to Olive Avenue beginning at 3:00 p.m.

Clematis Street will be closed from Olive Avenue to Rosemary Avenue beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Clematis Street will remain closed between Flagler Drive and Olive Avenue until approximately 10:00 p.m.  The remainder of Clematis Street will reopen to traffic upon the conclusion of the parade, at approximately 6:30 p.m.

(11/28/07)  Due to maintenance being done by the FEC Railway company on the railroad tracks just west of Quadrille Boulevard, Okeechobee Boulevard westbound will be closed to traffic just west of Quadrille Boulevard beginning Monday, December 3, 2007 at 6:00 a.m.  The road is expected to reopen on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 6:00 a.m.

This project only affects westbound traffic on Okeechobee Boulevard.  Eastbound traffic on Okeechobee Boulevard will not be detoured or rerouted.

Westbound traffic will be detoured north on Quadrille Boulevard, west on Banyan Boulevard and then south on Tamarind Avenue back to Okeechobee Boulevard.

 Motorists and homeowners should be aware of the following roads closures due to the Marathon of the Palm Beaches:

Friday, November 30TH by 6:00 a.m.
Hibiscus Street in CityPlace between Rosemary and just west of parking garage entrance to close

Friday, November 30th to begin at 9:00 a.m. (for Event Setup)
Southbound Flagler between Datura and Fern will close, and Northbound Flagler becomes 2-way
Evernia between Flagler & Post Park parking lot entrances will close

Saturday, December 1st to begin at 6:00 a.m. (before the 5K)
Flagler Drive closed between Lakeview & Banyan Blvd.
South Clematis at Narcissus closed until 6:00 p.m. Sunday 12/2

Saturday, December 1st to begin at 7:00 a.m. (for the 5K)
Northbound and Southbound Flagler will close completely from Lakeview to 26th Street
Flagler between Lakeview and 5th Street will remain closed until 11:00 a.m.

Saturday, December 1st to begin at 12:00 p.m. (after the 5K)
Southbound Flagler becomes closed between Banyan and Fern
Northbound Flagler becomes 2-way for north and south traffic flow between Banyan & Fern
Evernia between Flagler and Post Park will remain closed (no access to Post Park parking lot)
