Thank you for your interest in becoming certified as a small business with the City of West Palm Beach's Small Business Program. The City's Small Business Program was established so that all businesses are afforded an opportunity for full participation in the city's procurement process.

If your business meets the following criteria, you are encouraged to apply for certification which qualifies your business for participation in the City's preferential procurement programs:

1. Is domiciled in Palm Beach County
   
   
2. Is an independently owned and operated business concern that is not owned or controlled by a large business
   
   
3. Performs a commercially useful function and is responsible for execution of a discrete element of work of a contract and carrying out its responsibilities by actually performing, managing, and supervising the work performed
   
   
4. The business's adjusted gross margin does not exceed:
   $3,400,000 in construction
   $1,700,000 in commodities
   $2,900,000 in professional services
   
   *Above dollar thresholds will be adjusted each October to the consumer price index and shall be in conjunction with Palm Beach County's office of Small Business Assistance.
   
   

How to become certified as a Small Business with the City of West Palm Beach.

1. Complete a City of West Palm Beach SBE Certification Application and submit:
   
   
   • Required supporting documentation (as outlined in Section V according to business structure)
     
     
   
   
2. If you are currently certified with Palm Beach County Office of Small Business Assistance or Palm Beach County School District Office of Diversity to streamline your certification documentation process submit:
   
   
   • Submit the documentation required by the City stated on the Interlocal Agreement Cover Sheet.
