Quality Initiatives: The City owned wetlands, including Grassy Waters Nature Center, provide 75% of our potable water. The remaining 25% of our water is drawn from Lake Okeechobee, primarily during the dry season. To ensure the quality of our water we have eight sampling sites within Grassy Waters, four at Ibis, seven at the Advanced Wastewater Treatment site and seven at the Ground Water Wells.

Our raw water reaches us via the L-8 canal and Lake Mangonia to Clear Lake where it is processed through the Water Treatment Facility then distributed to our customers. There are an additional eighteen sampling sites in the L-8 canal, Lake Mangonia, and Clear Lake. We collect and test samples on a monthly basis.

Laboratory Services conducts in excess of 75,000 tests per year to ensure the quality of your drinking water.
