West Palm Beach's drinking water flows through the M-Canal to the Water Plant for processing from the raw state to potable (clean, drinkable) water.

Increasing the width of the M-Canal by 80 feet, 3 miles to the North in phase # 1 of the project and 6 miles to the start of the canal in phase # 2 of the project will increase water flow from 150 to 450 CFS. This is a three fold increase in the amount of water available to the City.

A system of boardwalks and trails will connect Apoxee Park and the Grassy Waters Nature Center, providing visitors will an opportunity to interact with the environment.

Hikers will be able to select an Apoxee Park trail that circles Apoxee or take an extended hike from the Apoxee circle, West and then North over the Wetland Reuse Area to the Grassy Waters Nature Center. Additional trails will extend from Apoxee; West, then South, then North and finally East to Grassy Waters.
