Interpretive Naturalist - Grassy Water Nature Center

Description: Interpretive Naturalist (Volunteer positions and activities to include Boardwalk Guides, Dipnetting, Hikes, Biking and others).

Enjoy the great outdoors of Sunny South Florida and share you love of nature! Our naturalist positions may help assist or lead any of the above programs. Program times vary but guided boardwalk or trail hikes are approximately one hours' duration.  You may utilize a rolling cart display in some presentations.

You may target working only in specific areas. A great volunteer need is working with our numerous school group programs which are offered most week day mornings.

Required: You must learn basic knowledge of the plants, animals, and various habitats of the Preserve. Must have good leadership and communication skills and enjoy working outdoors with people of all ages. Training provided.

Weekly volunteer shifts are preferred with a minimum of two shifts a month required.  Volunteer shift times will vary depending on program but are approximately 2 to 4 hours each.

****Minimum volunteer age 16 years old and up. A completed Volunteer application and background check is required.
