Nature Center Steward - Grassy Water Nature Center
Description: Enjoy our beautiful Wetland views from our Wilderness Pavilion while sharing your love of nature with visitors!
The nature center steward interacts and greets all visitors coming into the nature center. You will dispense information, make program reservations, keep nature videos running and answers phones. Position may occasionally include some office duties.
Between visitors you may choose to pursue your interests, such as reading a book of your own (we have a small but very interesting and well stocked book and video library on Florida's natural environment).
Morning or afternoon shifts are available.
Required: Must be outgoing and enjoy working with the public. You must become familiar with basic Nature Center operations and some knowledge of the Preserves plants, animals, and habitats helpful. Office or computer experience is helpful. Training provided.
A weekly volunteer four hour shift (morning or afternoon) preferred with a minimum of two shifts per month required.
****Minimum volunteer age 16 years old and up. A completed Volunteer application and background check is required.
