ICYMI: Hurricane Season Is Here – Know Your Evacuation Zone
WEST PALM BEACH, FLA (July 15, 2020) – The City of West Palm Beach encourages residents to ‘know your zone’ before a hurricane or tropical storm threatens. Knowing in which evacuation zone you live can save both time and lives. Evacuation zones have been established to help homeowners understand their risk and know when it is necessary to leave the area should a hurricane or emergency threaten. There are six zones, each with a different risk level. During a hurricane, evacuation orders may be issued for residents residing within those six zones.
To look up your evacuation zone, please see the Palm Beach County Evacuation Lookup Tool: http://discover.pbcgov.org/publicsafety/dem/Pages/Preparedness.aspx#Q8
The Atlantic Hurricane Season runs from June 1 – November 30. The City of West Palm Beach actively prepares for hurricane season year-round. The City provides information on the City Website to help residents prepare. Please visit: www.wpb.org/storm.
