Sculpting begins for City of West Palm Beach's World Famous Holiday Sand Tree
Visitors are invited to watch as "Sandi" begins to take shape.

Sculpting will start Tuesday, November 19*** and will continue through Wednesday, November 27
***please note: the star tree topper will go on top of the tree around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19 pending delay due to weather; sculpting will then continue throughout the week daily from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
 
Holiday Tree Lighting occurs at Clematis by Night on Thursday, December 5th, starting at 6 p.m.
WHO: The City of West Palm Beach, and Sandi, the world’s only 35-foot-tall tree made of 700-tons-of-sand will begin to take shape!
 
WHAT: 700-tons of sand has piled up on the Great Lawn in Downtown West Palm Beach. Team Sandtastic is ready to shape that great big pile of sand into the world-famous holiday sand tree, Sandi! Over the course of approximately 10 days, the amazing team of sculptors will mold and shape the sand until it turns into the magnificent sand tree, ready for her debut during the Clematis by Night Holiday Tree Lighting.

Sandi will light up, after a month of preparations, during the Clematis by Night Holiday Tree Lighting on Thursday, December 5th, 2019. The Surf’s Up theme is expected to be a big hit with residents, revisiting guests, and first-time visitors to downtown West Palm Beach, many of whom have made Sandi part of their annual holiday traditions. Sandi will offer the public nightly music and light shows from the Great Lawn, west of Flagler Drive on North Clematis Street, through New Year’s Eve, Sunday, December 31, 2019.
