Electric vehicle (EV) drivers and enthusiasts in the City of West Palm Beach and surrounding areas will come together to highlight the clean-air benefits and cost-savings of electric cars.

WHAT:                 Electric vehicle (EV) drivers and enthusiasts in the City of West Palm Beach and surrounding areas will come together to highlight the clean-air benefits and cost-savings of electric cars on September 14, 2019 at the National Drive Electric Week Kickoff event. The event is part of the sixth annual National Drive Electric Week celebration.

WHEN:             Saturday, September 14, 2019; 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

WHERE:           Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society (parking lot)
1301 Summit Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33405

ABOUT:                Electric vehicles are a key solution for reducing greenhouse gas emissions that cause climate change. They can help protect our area’s coastline by reducing the need for offshore drilling. Florida, the third most populous state in the U.S., is one of the most vulnerable states to the dangers of offshore drilling and the impacts of a changing climate.

Attendees will have the chance to experience what it’s like to drive electric. They can also learn how electric cars save drivers money in lower fuel and maintenance costs and how they offer better overall safety and performance.

Personal EV owners are encouraged to attend and will receive priority parking under the solar array in the Palm Beach Zoo parking lot this year.

The event is organized by the City of West Palm Beach and the Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society. Plug In America, the Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association are national organizers. The Nissan LEAF® is the exclusive national automotive sponsor.

ADMISSION:      Admission is free as the event will take place in the Palm Beach Zoo parking lot from 10am-2pm.
