General Camp Information

At this time, all registrations must be mailed in or completed online at westpalmparks.org. If you find that you cannot register for a program or if you have any questions regarding the summer camp programs, contact our Administration Office at (561) 804-4900.

Sports and Specialty Camps are specialized one week, two week, or daily camps and clinics. Programming and fees vary. 

Building Up Sports Academy Fishing Camp

Campers will learn to tie different knots, bait a hook, learn water safety and learn to identify different freshwater and salt water fish in Florida. We provide fishing equipment: rods, bait, etc. 

There will be a fishing tournament on the last day of camp followed by an awards ceremony. All campers will receiving a fishing medal and a t-shirt on the last day of camp. Because of fishing equipment, this camp is limited to the number of campers. Join us for a great week of fishing and a chance to catch a trophy fish!

Dance & Cheer Camp

This fun camp is the best place for young people to break into the sport of cheerleading. Campers will learn the basics of cheerleading stunts, cheers, tumbling and dances. Instructors will set up a choreographed dance and cheerleading show for campers to display on the last day of camp.

Counselor In Training Program (C.I.T.)

The Counselor In Training Program is designed to offer young people an opportunity to gain experience and skills for their future success. An application, interview, and selection into this program is a prerequisite to registration.

Journey Quest

Sk8board Camp

This camp is for both beginners and experienced skateboard enthusiasts. 

Grinders (Beginners): For the future ripper with less than one month of skateboarding experience, Grinders camp will focus on the basics of skateboarding including pushing, turning, and going down banked ramps. Further curriculum will include proper use of skateboarding equipment and basic terminology. This camp will also highlight basic tricks for more advanced participants. 

Thrashers (Intermediate): For the skate with more than one month of skateboarding experience who can demonstrate board control and confidence with speed. During the week, Thrashers camp will focus on learning new tricks such as drop-in's and ollies, as well as discuss park etiquette and skateboard maintenance.

Summer Swim Lessons

Swim lessons are available for children that attend the City of West Palm Beach Summer Camp program. Lessons are held during the weekly visit to the Aquatic Center. Children will be placed in levels according to their swimming ability, which is assessed on their first visit to the pool. Children must be registered for both summer camp session to participate in all swim lessons.

Franklin Sailing Camps

This camp if for beginners,intermediate, and advanced sailors. 

Beginner Camp: Campers will master sailing's most essential skills: how to capsize and right a small boat, how to steer, trim its sail and execute sailing maneuvers such as tracking and jibing. They will also learn to tie several common sailing knots, rules of the road on inland waters and water safety.

Intermediate/Advanced Camp: Campers will hone the skills learned in beginner's camp and move on to learn advanced sailing skills and techniques. This camp is based on experience.
