The Census Bureau has one of the strongest confidentiality guarantees in the federal government. It is against the law for any Census Bureau employee to disclose or publish any census or survey information that identifies an individual or business. All of the information collected is confidential and protected by federal law.  None of the personal information you disclose will be revealed. Only after 72 years does any information collected even become available to other agencies. The Census Bureau strongly states that census data is, by law, confidential and can be used only for statistical purposes.
