To prepare for the Lantern Festival on Saturday, February 28, 2026, we invite you to participate in our hands-on lantern-making workshops. At these sessions, you’ll have the chance to craft and personalize your own paper lantern with the help of professional artists. All necessary materials are provided, and you'll learn the cultural significance of lanterns while creating your masterpiece.
A hands-on, creative experience at the West Palm Beach GreenMarket Community Workshop, we will make and decorate different types of lanterns. There will an opportunity to learn about the cultural significance of lanterns in Asian cultures, with clear instructions with demonstrations for each lantern type. All necessary materials will be provided with guidance on safe and effective use. Assistance and support will be provided from instructors throughout the workshop. By the end of the workshop, guests will have crafted beautiful lanterns to showcase at our 2026 Lantern Festival taking place on Saturday, February 28! What to bring: Optional Items: Personal Decorations: Stickers, markers, or any other personal decorative items they might want to use to personalize their lanterns. Additional Craft Supplies: Unique embellishments such as dried flowers or leaves, special colored paper, glitter, or other decorative items. Notebook and Pen: For taking notes on the lantern-making process and instructions.
