City Practices for Hurricane Season With Realistic Drills

With hurricane season upon us, the City of West Palm Beach is getting ready to handle any emergency that may arise as a result of a storm. At the annual hurricane readiness drill, critical skills were put to the test.

During Monday night's City Commission Meeting, Mayor James proclaimed the week of June 3 through 7, 2024, as Code Enforcement Officers Appreciation Week. Code Enforcement works hard every day to ensure the safety and the quality of our lives here in West Palm Beach.

Encourages Residents to Utilize
Hurricane Tax-Free Week from June 1-14, 2024

The City of West Palm Beach is proud to announce the upcoming Hurricane Tax-Free Week, running from June 1 to June 14, 2024. This initiative aims to provide relief to our residents by offering tax exemptions on essential hurricane preparedness supplies, encouraging everyone to be adequately equipped for the upcoming storm season.

2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season

With the onset of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season drawing near, the City of West Palm Beach is reminding residents of the critical importance of readiness in the face of potential storms. While we remain hopeful for a calm season, it is imperative to be fully prepared for any eventuality. The season, spanning from June 1 to Nov. 30, 2024, is when tropical storms and hurricanes are anticipated to form in the Atlantic.

The Center for Child Counseling, which provides affordable therapy for families, and training for therapists, now has a new location in the Historic Northwest to serve area clients.

Next City Commission Meeting

The next City Commission meeting will be held on Monday, June 10 at 5 p.m. in City Hall, 401 Clematis Street. Commission meetings are held every other Monday, except for holidays, and the public is encouraged to attend.
