West Palm Beach City Commission Meeting and Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Meeting Approvals and Decisions

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (July 8, 2025) – Below is a summary of the approvals and decisions made by the City Commission meeting on Monday, July 7, 2025.

MAYOR’S OFFICE – In celebration of the dedicated work by the City’s Parks & Recreation, Mayor Keith A. James proclaimed July 2025 as Recreation and Parks Month in the City of West Palm Beach.

Approved a resolution setting a Face of the City, the Revolutionary War Patriots Memorial Marker to honor the birth of the United States of America and to be installed at Monceaux Park, 2994 South Flagler Drive by the Daughters of the Revolution (DAR), Henry Morrison Flagler Chapter. The marker will be privately funded.

Approved an ordinance after first public hearing amending the Code of Ordinances at Chapter 86 to aid in parking enforcement of oversized vehicles.

CITY ATTORNEY – Approved a resolution approving a Settlement Agreement totaling $75,000 in the matter of Gregory Babcock, Employee/Claimant.

DEVELOPMENT SERVICES – Continued to July 21, 2025, a public hearing on a resolution requested by Brian Cheguis, of iPlan & Design, LLC, on behalf of Brady Flagler Management, LLC, to amend a previously approved Class A Special Use Permit, to allow for the construction of a 200-foot-long private dock with two (2) boat lifts, where a total of 136 feet and 9 inches in length is currently permitted on a property located at 7405 S. Flagler Drive, within the Single-Family Low Density (SF7) residential zoning district.

FIRE DEPARTMENT – Approved a resolution authorizing the appropriation or transfer of City funds in the amount of $36,211 from the 2024-2025 Fiscal Year in accordance with Section 4.03 of the City Charter of the City of West Palm Beach, Florida, for the purpose of amending the capital acquisition fund budget to re-appropriate project funding from Fire Station No. 4 to the fuel tank replacement project.

PARKS and RECREATION – Approved a resolution accepting and appropriating funds in the amount of $5,500 from Prime Time of Palm Beach County funded by the Children Services Council in recognition of the after-school programs at Gaines Park, Vedado Park, Pleasant City, and South Olive Park completing the Quality Improvement System (QIS) core quality practices.

Below is a complete list of approvals and decisions made at the Monday, July 7, 2025 Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) meeting.

Heard a presentation of six proposals received for Notice of Disposition issued April 20, 2025, for affordable housing for properties located at 401 Division Avenue, 639 4th Street, 631 6th Street, and 519 L A Kirksey. The proposals were received on or before May 20, 2025.

 Approved a resolution 25-31 approving the appointment of Will Davis to the Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board for the Northwood / Pleasant City CRA.
