City of West Palm Beach Announces Series of Community Meetings
With Mayor Keith A. James and Police Chief Tony Araujo

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – The City of West Palm Beach invites residents to a series of community town hall meetings featuring Mayor Keith James and newly appointed Police Chief Tony Araujo. These town halls will provide an opportunity for residents to meet Chief Araujo, learn about the future of the West Palm Beach Police Department, and discuss public safety priorities.

“As we continue working to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents, it is critical to have open dialogue and collaborations with our community,” stated Mayor James. “These community meetings will allow residents to hear directly from our new police chief and share their thoughts on the future of policing in West Palm Beach.”

Chief Araujo steps into the West Palm Beach Police Chief role with nearly 43 years of experience in law enforcement. "Community engagement is essential to public safety," said Chief Araujo. "These meetings with the mayor give residents a voice and help us build trust, transparency, and stronger partnerships. We encourage everyone to take part."

Community Meeting Schedule:
All meetings are scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.

  • Wednesday, April 9, 2025 — Gaines Park Community Center, 1501 N. Australian

  • Tuesday, April 15, 2025 — Center for Creative Education, 2400 Metrocentre Blvd. - POSTPONED

  • Tuesday, April 22, 2025 — Flagler Gallery, City Hall, 401 Clematis Street

  • Tuesday, May 6, 2025 — South Olive Park Community Center, 345 Summa St.

Residents are encouraged to attend and participate in discussions about public safety, community safety initiatives, and upcoming changes in the department.
