Important Camp Information

Residents Registration:

Registration will be accepted online at parks.wpb.org (click link to register) and by postmarked mail. Spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Proof of City of West Palm Beach residency is required.

Non-residents Registration:

Registration will be accepted online at parks.wpb.org (click link to register) and by postmarked mail. Spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you find that you cannot register for a program or if you have any questions regarding the summer camp programs, contact our Administration Office at (561) 804-4900 (TTY: 800-955-8771).

Sports and Specialty Camps are specialized one-week, two-week, or daily camps and clinics. Programming and fees will vary.

Franklin Sailing Camps

Camp Information

Requirements: Sailors are not expected to have any sailing skills to attend camp, but they must be a proficient swimmer. Each sailor, regardless of age or number of years participating in the summer camp program, must pass a simple swim test the first day of camp.

What to bring:

  • Life Jackets: All sailors are required to wear a Type 3 US Coast Guard approved life vest. These are available at Target, Walmart, and West Marine. Campers are encouraged to purchase a comfortable vest, as sailing will always wear one. The camp does have a limited supply on hand.
  • Non-Skid Water Shoes (no crocs or open sandals)
  • Hat
  • Bagged Lunch
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Towel

Beginner Sailing

The Beginner Sailing camp is geared towards beginners. Campers will master sailing's most essential skills: how to capsize and right a small boat, how to steer and trim its sail, and execute sailing maneuvers of tacking and jibing. Campers will also learn to tie several knots, rules of the road on inland waters, and water safety.

Ages: 8 - 11

Intermediate Sailing Camp

In Intermediate Sailing, sailors are taken to the next level while keeping an emphasis on safety and fun! More advanced sailing skills are covered on faster, more challenging sailboats. *Intermediate Sailing gets you ready to sail at Currie Park on the Intracoastal. All US Sailing Small Boat Sailor Certification skills will be taught and assessed during the week of camp. One of the skills covered is capsizing, be prepared to pass a capsize drill during your week of camp. Basic sailing camp is a prerequisite to this camp.

Advanced Sailing Camps

Learn basic racing techniques in Advanced Sailing. Knowledge brings confidence when you're riding the wind in a high-performance Laser. Passing Intermediate Sailing camp or US Sailing small boat sailing standards is a prerequisite to this camp.

Sk8board Camp

Our one week Skateboard Summer Camps are the perfect place for kids ages 6-14 to roll into summer fun! Designed for beginners through intermediate skaters, these camps focus on building fundamental skateboarding skills in a safe, supportive, and supervised environment. Campers will learn proper skateboard safety, balance, pushing, turning, stopping, and basic tricks while gaining confidence and improving coordination. Instructors emphasize sportsmanship, perseverance, and respect for others at the skate park. Daily activities include skill instruction, practice time, games, and challenges tailored to each age and ability level. Whether your child is stepping on a skateboard for the first time or looking to sharpen their skills, this camp offers an exciting week of movement, learning, and fun on wheels!

Skater Quest Camp

Our one-week Skateboard Adventure Camp is perfect for kids who love to skate and explore! Designed for skaters ages 8-14, this camp combines daily skateboarding experiences with exciting trips to different skate parks around our area, along with the fun outings to local attractions such as movie theaters, roller skating rinks, and more. 

Campers will build skateboarding skills, confidence, and creativity as they ride new parks and terrain, guided by experienced and supportive staff. Safety, sportsmanship, and respect are emphasized at every stop. When they're not skating, campers will enjoy group games, team-building activities, and special outings that make each day a new adventure. This camp is all about movement, exploration, and unforgettable summer memories - on and off the board!

Pixie Camp

Pixie Camp is designed especially for children ages 3-5 with limited or no camp experience. In a safe, nurturing environment, campers explore a variety of fun, age-appropriate activities while learning, playing and making new friends. All children must be potty trained.

We are a State of Florida licensed childcare facility and maintain a 1-5 staff-to-camper ratio to ensure personalized care and attention. Campers enjoy on-site "FUN" activities including playground time, innovative games, STEM/STEAM activities, and arts and crafts - creating joyful days filled with discovery and imagination.

Pleasant City - Youth Empowerment Day Camp

Counselor-In-Training Program (CIT)

The Counselor In Training (CIT) Program is designed for teens who are ready to take the next step in leadership while enjoying a fun and engaging summer camp experience. CITs gain hands-on experience working alongside camp counselors, assisting with daily activities, games, special events, and camper supervision.

Participants will learn valuable skills such as teamwork, communication, responsibility, and problem-solving, while developing confidence and leadership abilities in a supportive and structured environment. The program also introduces basic job readiness skills, including following schedules, modeling positive behavior, and learning what it takes to be a successful camp counselor.

The City Fun Summer Camp CIT Program is perfect for teens who love working with children, want to give back to their community, and are interest in future employment opportunities in recreation or youth programs.

 

Grade:                        9th - 12th (Student must be entering the 10th grade for the 2026 - 2027 school year).

Sunshine Explorers

Join us for a week of adventure as campers explore the sights, nature, and culture that make South Florida such a special place! This one-week summer camp is designed for children in kindergarten through 5th grade and features exciting field trips to a variety of local destinations across South Florida. With caring staff, safe transportation, and age-appropriate activities, this camp blends learning, exploration, and summer fun - creating unforgettable memories and a deeper appreciation for the place we call home.

Volleyball Camp

Get ready to bump, set, and spike! Our Recreation Volleyball Camp is designed for players ages 9-17 of all skill levels - from beginners learning the basics to more experienced players looking to improve their game. Campers will learn fundamental volleyball skills including serving, passing, setting, hitting, and court positioning through fun drills, skill-building activities, and team play. Players should bring sneakers, wear comfortable clothes, refillable water bottle, and knee pads.
