Mayor Keith A. James Names Tony Araujo West Palm Beach Police Chief
WEST PALM BEACH, FL (Monday, February 3, 2025)– Antonio “Tony” Araujo was appointed the new West Palm Beach Police Chief after confirmation by the West Palm Beach City Commission. The appointment is effective March 3, 2025. Mayor Keith A. James selected Chief Araujo after serving as the interim Police Chief since October 1, 2024.
Pleasant City Community Meeting | February 27
Join the City of West Palm Beach, the Community Redevelopment Agency team, and your neighbors for the Quarterly Pleasant City Community Meeting and an interactive community outreach session to discuss ideas for park programming and the Currie Park Cafe on February 27! We encourage community feedback as we provide updates on the latest information on projects in Pleasant City and provide valuable input on how the cafe and events can best serve the community. The CRA will be inviting multiple City Departments and City consultants will be on hand to to discuss topics including safe initiatives and to explain the plans and hear your feedback as part of an ongoing effort to enhance the park's offerings. The West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (“CRA”), in accordance with Sec. 163.380, Fla. Stat., hereby gives notice of its intent to offer a short-term lease of the following property:

Legally described as: Lot 14, Block 6, of the Amended Plat of the Freshwater Addition to the Town of West Palm Beach, according to the plat thereof recorded in Plat Book 6, Page 29 of the Public Records of Palm Beach County, Florida.
The property is approximately 0.14 acres, currently zoned Northwest District – 5.
The CRA is seeking proposals for a short-term lease of approximately 2 – 3 years to a business or operator to install and operate a pop-up roller skating rink, or similar use, which will provide a recreational outlet for the community.
All proposals from interested parties must be received within thirty (30) days following the date of publication of this notice (February 9th). Proposals received after 5:00 PM on the 30th day will not be considered.

No proposal shall be considered accepted until a written contract is executed by the proposer and the CRA.
