West Palm Beach City Commission Meeting Approvals and Decisions

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (July 22, 2025) – Below is a summary of the approvals and decisions made by the City Commission meeting on Monday, July 21, 2025.

MAYOR’S OFFICE – Approved an ordinance after a second public hearing amending the Code of Ordinances at Chapter 86 to aid in parking enforcement of oversized vehicles.

DEVELOPMENT SERVICES – Approved a resolution after a public hearing amending a previously approved Class A Special Use Permit, to allow for the construction of a 200-foot-long private dock with two (2) boat lifts, where a total of 136 feet and 9 inches in length is currently permitted on a property located at 7405 S. Flagler Drive, within the Single-Family Low Density (SF7) residential zoning district.

ENGINEERING – Approved a resolution approving an Interlocal Agreement with Palm Beach County for renewal of the six-cent fuel tax.

HOUSING and COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT – Approved a pair of companion resolutions, the first authorizing and approving a second interlocal agreement between the City and Palm Beach County to jointly provide housing assistance and supportive services to homeless individuals under the Pathway to Independence Program, and the second resolution authorizing the appropriation of HUD Continuum of Care (CoC) proceeds in the Grant Programs Special Revenue Fund for the Pathways to Independence Program.

POLICE DEPARTMENT – Approved a resolution amending the fleet replacement fund budget to provide additional funding from reserves for the Police mobile command center.

PUBLIC UTILITIES – Approved a resolution authorizing the City’s participation in the Department of Energy Better Climate Challenge.
