City of West Palm Beach Precautionary Boil Water Advisory

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (May 19, 2025) – The City of West Palm Beach has issued a Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for approximately 300 water customers following a water main break early this afternoon in the area west of Parker Avenue, between Summit Boulevard and Southern Boulevard. The Precautionary Boil Water Notice does not affect customers west of Interstate 95, and Dreher Park is also unaffected by the precautionary order.

Until the City rescinds the precautionary boil water notice, customers are advised to use bottled water or boil their water at a rolling boil for one minute. Alternatively, customers can add eight drops of unscented household bleach per gallon of water and allow the water to stand for one hour before drinking.

The water is safe for bathing, showering, and washing clothes.

City crews are currently making necessary repairs, which are expected to be completed before dawn on Tuesday. Due to the initial pressure drop, the city is required to conduct bacteriological sampling throughout the system for two days. This is why the precautionary boiling water advisory is in effect until further notice.

The City will inform customers when the precautionary boil water advisory is rescinded. Updates will be posted on the City’s website and the local news media will also be notified.
