West Palm Beach Police Issues Traffic, Heat Advisory for June 14 Demonstrations

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (June 13, 2025) — The West Palm Beach Police Department is advising residents and visitors to expect significant traffic delays in the downtown area on Saturday, June 14, due to planned demonstrations. The events are expected to draw large crowds, and several roadways may be impacted by heavier-than-normal traffic.

We encourage drivers to plan ahead, consider alternate routes, and allow extra travel time throughout the day.

In addition to traffic concerns, temperatures are expected to reach the mid-to-high 90s. Anyone planning to participate in the demonstrations should take precautions to avoid heat exhaustion, which can occur quickly in these conditions.

To stay safe in the heat:

  • Stay hydrated by drinking water throughout the day—don’t wait until you’re thirsty.
  • Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing and a hat.
  • Apply sunscreen regularly and seek shade when possible.
  • Limit strenuous activity, especially during peak sun hours (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.).

Know the signs of heat exhaustion, which include:

  • Dizziness or light-headedness
  • Excessive sweating
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Headache
  • Weakness or fatigue
  • Cool, clammy skin

If you or someone around you shows symptoms, move to a cooler area immediately, hydrate, and seek medical attention if symptoms do not improve.

The West Palm Beach Police Department supports everyone’s right to peaceful assembly and is committed to ensuring the safety of all participants and members of the public. Please stay aware of your surroundings.
