Currie Park | Groundbreaking Ceremony
"We recently broke ground at Currie Park, kickstarting the highly-anticipated Currie Park Redevelopment Project. This park is a focal point in our community, offering a space for recreation and beautiful waterfront views for everyone in the community to enjoy. This 13-acre transformation will include a vibrant play area with a splash pad, over 70,000 square feet of flexible lawn space for events and relaxation, a scenic fishing pier, and so much more. After years of careful planning, we are revitalizing Currie Park to meet the needs of our community and to capture the spirit of our incredible City."

National Small Business Week | May 4 – 10, 2025
During the last City Commission meeting on Monday, May 12, we celebrated National Small Business Week with our Office of Small and Minority/Women Business Programs.
Small businesses are the engine of the American economy and the foundation of a free and prosperous nation — built by individuals who work hard, take risks, and believe in the power of the American Dream.
Small Businesses make up more than 99% of all private sector employers and create nearly two out of every three jobs in American, fueling opportunity and driving local economies across every corner of the country. National Small Business Week has been proclaimed by the President of the United States since 1963, honoring the vital role of small businesses in creating jobs, growing the economy, and anchoring our communities — and Mayor Keith James also makes it a priority to proclaim it here in the City of West Palm Beach every year.

The Governor's Hurricane Conference brought first responders from across the country and beyond to West Palm Beach. There, they made connections, listened to expert speakers, and shopped for equipment and supplies. It was all in preparation for hurricane season, which is just around the corner.

With hurricane season less than two weeks away, City crews are preparing for whatever lies ahead. An annual post-storm recovery drill simulation helps them train for the unexpected. There was tons of debris and flood waters for staff to respond to while navigating downed powerlines, hazardous conditions, and upset and unruly residents who violated safety protocols by entering the work zone.
