WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (November 12, 2025) — The West Palm Beach Police Department responded to a collision involving a passenger train and a construction vehicle on Northlake Boulevard, just west of Beeline Highway, at approximately 2:30 p.m.
Preliminary findings indicate a construction vehicle entered the path of a northbound Amtrak passenger train. The driver of the construction vehicle, 65-year-old Nowel Alfonso, was pronounced dead at the scene. The train operator was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. No additional injuries were reported.
One eastbound lane of Northlake Boulevard was temporarily closed during the investigation but has since been reopened.
The investigation is ongoing.
