Temporary Closure of Flagler Drive at South Lakeside Court
WEST PALM BEACH, FL (March 23, 2026) – Following a significant rain event on Friday, March 13, a manhole along Flagler Drive sustained damage, requiring the immediate closure of the roadway at South Lakeside Court to ensure public safety.
City crews promptly assessed the site and determined that repairs to the damaged manhole and surrounding roadway infrastructure are necessary before the area can safely reopen to traffic.
The contractor is in the process of restoring the roadway at South Lakeside Court and Flagler Drive and it is anticipated to reopen to traffic in both Northbound and Southbound directions on Friday, March 27, 2026. Future partial lane closures will be implemented for the contractor to complete the remaining work in this area over the next three weeks.
Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes and exercise caution in the surrounding area while repairs are underway. The City of West Palm Beach thanks residents, businesses, and commuters for their patience and cooperation.
