City of West Palm Beach Art in Public Places Presents Treefall Exhibition at
The Urban in the Mandel Public Library
WEST PALM BEACH, FL (September 15, 2025) — The City of West Palm Beach’s Art in Public Places presents Treefall, the third public art exhibition in the Mandel Public Library’s Urban Living Room, also known as The Urban, opening to the public on Friday, September 19, 2025.
The exhibition features works by Molly Aubry, Isabel Gouveia, Natalie Hou, Eloise Janssen, and Michelle A M Miller — five local artists who together form Treefall, a women’s eco-collective based in the Northwood area. Inspired by treefall ecology — the environmental impacts of fallen trees — each of the five artists offer distinct perspectives on how our daily choices shape landscapes, both real and constructed.
The exhibition includes sculpture, painting, photography, collage, printmaking, and performative exercises that require audience participation. As a collective, Treefall aims to cultivate fertile ground for their artistic practices.
Featured Works
-
Molly Aubry – Tessellations: These sculptures are part of her ongoing series exploring the tension between organic forms, geometry, and digital processes.
-
Isabel Gouveia – Untitled – Sunshine III: A large, formatted image manipulated through her print process to create an abstract color saturated composition of a constructed landscape.
-
Natalie Hou – Glyphs: A landscape of contemporary and ancient forms inspired by the Lascaux caves where humanity’s earliest known images exist, blending digital and handmade techniques.
-
Eloise Janssen – Entanglement: Plastered collage works created from discarded materials that are embedded into vessels for contemporary storytelling, which requires the viewer to pay close attention.
-
Michelle A M Miller – Ouroboros: Ongoing works on paper that redefine waste as a material opportunity where rituals of cleaning and care become delicate works of crushed oyster shells, wood scraps, charcoal casein, beeswax, and handmade paper.
