Mayor's Jumpstart Academy
"Last week, we celebrated the launch of the sixth cohort of the Mayor’s Jumpstart Academy — a powerful program helping local entrepreneurs turn their ideas into thriving businesses.
I’m so grateful to our amazing partners — the Urban League of Palm Beach County, the City’s Office of Small Business Programs, Co.Starters, the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches, and the Mandel Public Library — for making this program possible. Since the program’s inception, we’ve received $338,500 in contributions, showing how deeply this community believes in the power of entrepreneurship and the promise of our local talent.
To our alumni — your success continues to inspire us. And to our newest participants — thank you for your courage, creativity, and commitment. You remind us why this program matters.
Together, we’re building a West Palm Beach where every dream has the chance to grow."
— Mayor Keith A. James

Norton Museum of Art Trustee Bruce Gendelman
"Earlier this week, I was proud to celebrate Bruce Gendelman, whose leadership has strengthened both the Norton Museum of Art and our City’s vibrant arts community. For 13 years as Trustee and six as Chairman, he guided the Norton through growth, even during the pandemic, and helped energize the Gallery District for artists and collectors alike.
In recognition of his extraordinary contributions, the Museum has named him a Life Trustee, its highest honor. I proudly salute Bruce Gendelman for his lasting legacy of service to West Palm Beach."
— Mayor Keith A. James

The cultural identity of a city can often be traced back to its historic architecture. An old neighborhood preserves a community’s soul, a snapshot of when life was a little slower – and little things were a bit more meaningful. Today, we’ll meet the people who run the City’s Historic Preservation Program. We’ll see how homes become considered historic, and how a city on the move like West Palm Beach is working to remember the past.

If you’re really into cheese, you’ll find lots to choose from at the West Palm Beach GreenMarket. Among them is the artisanal selection from one vendor, Stamper Cheese, straight from Wisconsin.

As October brings a touch of mystery to the air, we take a look back at one of West Palm Beach’s most historic and quietly haunting places — Woodlawn Cemetery. In this episode shared earlier this year, we explore how a fast-growing city remembers its roots. Local writer and historian Ginger Pederson shares stories of the remarkable individuals laid to rest there and how their legacies continue to shape the city we know today.
Tune in for a thoughtful walk through history — and a reminder that in West Palm Beach, the past is never truly gone.
