West Palm Beach City Commission Meeting and Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Meeting Approvals and Decisions
WEST PALM BEACH, FL (May 12, 2026) – Below is a summary of the approvals and decisions made by the City Commission meeting on Monday, May 11, 2026.
MAYOR’S OFFICE – The Mayor’s Office presented three proclamations at the Monday, May 11, 2026, meeting.
Friday, May 15, 2026 was proclaimed National Peace Officers Memorial Day within the City of West Palm Beach. In on the presentation were, from left, Sgt. Christian Tomas, Officer Josue Taveras, Sgt. Anthony Goindoo, Sgt. Adam Myers, Officer Seth Buxton, City Commission President Joseph Peduzzi, presenting the proclamation to Deputy Chief of Police Anthony Shearer, Carlisha Boykins, widow to fallen Officer Jeremy Boykins, with their children, Police Chief Tony Araujo, Assistant Chief of Police Anthony Spatara, and Sgt. Ariel Munoz.
The City designated the week of May 17 through May 23, 2026, as National Public Works Week. The presentation included, from left, Amy Marks, Assistant Director of Public Works, Theodore Gaines, Public Works Superintendent, City Commissioner Christy Fox presenting the proclamation to Cerina Anderson, Administrative Services Superintendent, Jonathan Algaranaz, Facilities Manager, Matthew Williams, Fleet Manager, and Leon Pinder, Director of Public Works.
May 2026 was proclaimed Mental Health Awareness Month within the City. The presentation included, from left, Renee Govig, Director of Human Resources, City Commissioner Shalonda Warren, Leon Pinder, Director of Public Works and Jade A. Green Director of Housing and Community Development.
MAYOR’S OFFICE -- Approved a resolution amending the Fiscal Year 2025/26 Miscellaneous Trust Fund Budget for law enforcement equipment.
CITY ATTORNEY – Approved a resolution recognizing the Northwood Marina or NOMAR neighborhood.
DEVELOPMENT SERVICES – Approved a resolution after a public hearing to abandon and vacate alleyway for NORA development; approved a resolution after a public hearing to abandon and vacate a T-shaped alleyway for NORA development.
ENGINEERING – Approved two companion resolutions, the first approving a Local Agency Program Supplemental Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation for the construction of the 49th Street Traffic Calming and Bicycle Improvements Project in the amount of $1,172,608; and the companion resolution recognizing and appropriating the FDOT LAP Supplemental Agreement grant funding and City match.
HUMAN RESOURCES – Approved four employee insurance plan and benefits resolutions.

A resolution approving and authorizing the medical and dental insurance plan, supplemental benefits insurance, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for all eligible City employees;

A resolution approving and authorizing the life insurance (employer paid and employee purchase)/AD&D insurance, long-term disability insurance, and short-term disability insurance for all eligible City employees; and

A resolution approving and authorizing the vision insurance for all eligible City employees; and

A resolution approving and authorizing the voluntary benefits to include flexible spending accounts, pet insurance, legal plan identity theft, and network discount membership program supplemental benefit.
