West Palm Beach Police Participate in Multi-Agency Probation Compliance Operation

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (May 21, 2026) — The West Palm Beach Police Department today participated in a multi-agency probation enforcement operation alongside the Florida Department of Corrections Probation Division and the West Palm Beach Housing Authority.

Beginning before sunrise, officers, probation personnel, and housing authority representatives conducted compliance checks at nine residences involving individuals currently on probation throughout the city. One individual, 58-year-old John Spirvey, was taken into custody during the initiative for violation of probation.

“This operation highlights the strong partnership between our police officers, probation personnel, and the West Palm Beach Housing Authority in working together to enhance public safety,” said West Palm Beach Chief of Police Tony Araujo. “These proactive compliance checks help ensure accountability while identifying potential public safety concerns throughout our community.”

The operation was conducted to ensure probation compliance and verify that individuals were adhering to the terms of their supervision in accordance with state law and departmental policies.

Officers with the Florida Department of Corrections Probation Division led the compliance checks, while West Palm Beach police officers provided support throughout the operation. Representatives from the West Palm Beach Housing Authority also assisted during the initiative.

Any criminal or public safety information identified during the operation was documented for follow-up investigation and enforcement action, when appropriate.
