WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (June 17, 2026) — West Palm Beach Police Officer Gesner Michel has been recognized with the 2026 Community Hero Award by Integrated Healthcare Systems during its Unmask the Myth Gala, honoring his service, leadership, and positive impact within the community.
Michel, who has served in law enforcement since 2018, was selected for the award in recognition of his dedication to helping others and strengthening relationships with those he serves. According to the organization, Michel's actions included assisting a community member experiencing homelessness by helping secure food, shelter, and identification, demonstrating compassion beyond the scope of his daily duties.
"Officer Michel represents the professionalism, character, and commitment we strive to demonstrate every day," said West Palm Beach Police Captain Temeca West. "His ability to connect with people, earn trust, and provide meaningful support reflects the very best of the West Palm Beach Police Department and our mission to serve this community."
Integrated Healthcare Systems also recognized Michel for fostering trust, accountability, and strong community connections through his consistent service and engagement.
