Summer Reading Challenge 2025

Summer reading begins June 1, 2025. Preregister starting May 24.

Summer reading is getting started and great programs are on the way! This year’s theme is Color Our World - we encourage you to explore being creative.  

Join us for a summer kickoff party for children and teens on May 31, and adults on June 1.  

There are so many ways for kids, teens and adults to get creative at the library this summer! Check out our calendar of events for more summer fun to color your world.

Get Started on your Reading Challenge 

Preregister for the library’s all-ages Summer Reading Challenge starting Saturday, May 24! Sign up at mandelpubliclibrary.beanstack.com or by downloading the Beanstack app.

Everyone that signs up before June 1, will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of these great prizes:

• Babies, Toddlers, Preschoolers: Melissa and Doug Shopping Cart
• Elementary (Grades K-5): Kids Made Modern Arts and Crafts Kit
• Teens (Grades 6-12): Deluxe Art Set with Drawing Pads
• Adults: Choice of Book

The Reading Challenge for Kids & Teens

Log your reading from June 1 – July 31.

• Babies, Toddlers, and Preschoolers earn badges for every 5 books read and are eligible for books and prizes. Read 40 books to be eligible to win the grand prize — Toddler Standing Art Easel with Supplies.
• Elementary (Grades K-5) earn badges for every 100 minutes read and are eligible for books and prizes. Read 800 minutes to be eligible to win the grand prize — Fujifilm Instax Camera.
• Teens (Grades 6-12) earn badges for every 200 minutes read and are eligible for books and prizes. Read 800 minutes to be eligible to win the grand prize — Beats Studio Pro Headphones.

The Reading Challenge for Adults

Ready, set, READ! We encourage adults of all ages to Color Our World and read, from June 1 - July 31. 

Adults log your reading to earn fun badges, free books, and tickets to enter prize drawings! 

• Read 1 book and log it into Beanstack —  Select a free book. 
  • Write a review for your first book —  Earn another free book!
• Read 5 books and review all of them — Earn a third free book.
• Each book read will also earn a ticket to be entered into the grand prize drawings.

Prizes include:

• Beach Reads: Book Lovers Beach Towel, beach bag, Sun Bum Day Tripper set, paperback copy of It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey
