What is Composting?

Composting is a natural process that transforms organic materials—like leaves, grass clippings, and food scraps—into a valuable soil amendment that helps your plants thrive.

Why Compost?

Did you know the average single-family home in Palm Beach County produces 1,700 pounds of yard waste every year? That's over 40% of a household's total solid waste! With more than 200,000 tons of yard waste collected annually, backyard composting is a simple yet powerful way to:

• Reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills

• Extend the life of existing landfills

• Improve your soil and garden health naturally
