The City of West Palm Beach is participating in Loggerhead Marinelife Center's Unwrap the Waves candy wrapper recycling program. Collect and drop-off your candy wrappers for recycling this Halloween season! Drop them off at participating sites from October 31st to November 6th.
Did you know that Americans purchase over 600 billion pounds of candy each Halloween, which generates one pound of trash per trick or treater? The Unwrap the Waves recycling program works with community partners to collect empty candy wrappers as a way to raise awareness of the large amount of single use waste produced during the Halloween season. Candy wrappers are being collected and sent off to be fully recycled, which will help reduce litter and landfill waste.
