Grassy Water Preserve invites you to come and discover natural Florida on our naturalist-guided public programs.

Our most popular programs include one-, two-, and three-hour canoe and kayak trips, family dipnetting programs, off-boardwalk “swamp tromps,” and other environmental education activities for a wide variety of age groups.

Swamp Tromp

Guided Wet Hiking Tour

Come get your feet wet as you explore the wonders of the cypress swamp. Be prepared to get wet and muddy! This hike is on a rugged trail that requires stepping over and ducking under vegetation and other obstacles. Expect knee-deep water levels.

*Check in at the Nature Center 15min prior to program start time
Ages:
8 and over (if accompanied by an adult) 
Cost:
$10/adult, $5/child
Come Prepared:
Wear cloed-toed shoes that can get wet and dirty and fit tightly enough not to be pulled off by the mud (water shoes or old sneakers are best).  Bring a water bottle, towel, and change of clothes.
