Media Invited to City of West Palm Beach Hurricane Preparedness Exercise

 

WHAT:         Citywide Hurricane Preparedness Exercise

 

WHEN:          9  a.m. – noon

Wednesday, July 23, 2025

 

WHERE:        West Palm Beach Emergency Operations Center,

Fire Station 5

700 N. Congress Avenue

                        West Palm Beach, FL 33401

 

WHO:              City of West Palm Beach Departments of

  • Police and Fire Departments

  • Public Utilities and Public Works

  • Engineering, Building Services, and Code Enforcement

  • Parks and Recreation

  • Human Resources and Risk Management

  • Procurement and Finance

  • Communications and IT

 

KEY ELEMENTS:

Annually, the City of West Palm Beach holds a tabletop preparedness exercise to test all phases of emergency management, preparedness, response and recovery. All department directors will be on hand to test the readiness of staff and various units.

MEDIA OPPORTUNITIES: Visuals of the EOC and how the City sets up and prepares for,

and dispatches crews before and after a storm. Interviews with City EOC and key City Staff.
