West Palm Beach Fire and Police Departments to Host

7th Annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb and 5K Fun Run

 

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – On Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 8 a.m., the community will come together in downtown West Palm Beach for the 7th Annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb and the 2nd Annual 5K Fun Run. Hosted by the West Palm Beach Fire Department and West Palm Beach Police Department, the event will take place at 515 North Flagler Drive and raise funds for local charities.

 

The 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is a solemn tribute to the heroes and victims of September 11, 2001. Participants climb the equivalent of 110 stories, symbolizing the heroic journey of first responders who ascended the World Trade Center that day.

 

The event also will include a 5K Fun Run, the CrossFit Squad Workout Challenge and the Bill Bone Hero Challenge.

 

Proceeds from the event will benefit:

  • Pediatric Oncology Support Team (POST), which provides vital support to children fighting cancer and their families in South Florida,

  • Operation 300, which supports Gold Star families by offering mentorship and care to the children of fallen military members, and

  • Fire Academy Scholarships for students at Palm Beach Lakes High School.

Over the years, the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb Committee has contributed $195,000 to local causes — $90,000 to POST, $85,000 to Operation 300, and $20,000 in Fire Academy scholarships.

The City invites media representatives, community members, and all who wish to honor the memory of 9/11 first responders to join at 515 North Flagler Drive on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 8 a.m.
