Youth Action Climate Fund (YACF) Surface 71 Water Station Ribbon Cutting at Pleasant City Elementary School
"This week, we celebrated the great impact of youth-driven innovation happening right here in our City. The incredible students behind Surface 71 — one of our Youth Climate Action Fund grantees — used their grant funds to install a water filtration system at a school in need.
This project, brought to fruition by our very own youth, ensures that students at Pleasant City Elementary School have access to water filling stations with clean, safe drinking water, while also helping to reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles.
This tremendous accomplishment is what climate action looks like at the local level — young people identifying a need in their community, finding a sustainable solution, and putting in the work to make it happen. That’s leadership.
Thank you to the team at Surface 71 — and to our partners at Bloomberg Philanthropies, the Community Foundation, and Philanthropy Tank. You have all have played a critical role in empowering our youth here in West Palm Beach."
— Mayor Keith A. James

American Pharmacists Month Proclamation
"It was wonderful meeting these exceptional students from Palm Beach Atlantic University's Lloyd L. Gregory School of Pharmacy during their recent visit to City Hall. Declared by the American Pharmacists Association and the Florida Pharmacy Association, we celebrated October's American Pharmacists Month with an official proclamation.
Today, there are more than 335,100 pharmacists licensed in the United States — and I urge those in our community and beyond to acknowledge the thousands of pharmacists who are delivering critical services to patients and contributing to the health and well-being of communities across the nation.
Thank you to the students who came to accept this proclamation. I wish you all the best in your academic and professional pursuits."
— Mayor Keith A. James
