City Selected for $3 Million Generative AI in Local Government Grant
The City of West Palm Beach has been selected as one of ten cities for a national $3 million initiative to advance responsible use of generative AI (Artificial Intelligence) in local government.
This three-year, Knight Foundation–supported initiative led by Harvard Kennedy School's Data-Smart City Solutions will help cities responsibly harness generative artificial intelligence to improve government efficiency, strengthen decision-making, and enhance engagement with residents.
“West Palm Beach is proud to be part of this national effort to thoughtfully and responsibly explore how emerging technology can improve how we serve our residents.
From improving access to information to strengthening internal efficiency, our focus is always on using innovation in a way that is people-centered, transparent, and grounded in trust.
This partnership allows us to learn alongside leading cities while ensuring technology enhances, not replaces, the human side of local government.” — Mayor Keith A. James

International Holocaust Remembrance Day | 1/27
"On January 27, 1945, the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp was liberated — making this a significant day of remembrance around the globe. During this week, we remember the horrors and commemorate every individual who suffered. We remember and remind one another "never again." And we continue to fight against antisemitism and senseless violence wrought by xenophobia and bigotry.
This symbolic day gives the world pause, as we ruminate on history's resounding plea not to perpetuate the dangers of hate, cruelty, and harmful division." — Mayor Keith A. James
